The building we proudly operate from was purpose-built as a butcher shop in 1924, commissioned for Mr. A. Olive and designed by noted architect George Pullinger. With its robust brick construction and functional design, it set the standard for food retail in the Northern Rivers.

For decades, this site was home to Fawcett’s Butchery, where a young Vince Devine first honed his skills. Born and raised in Main Arm, Vince built his reputation on quality, community connection, and support for local farmers. In the early 1990s, he took the reins and launched Devine Quality Meats, continuing the legacy of honest, handcrafted butchery.

In recent years, the knives have been passed to Jay O’Harae and Greg Cromwell – local farmers passionate about sustainable agriculture, heritage breeds, and rural craft. Together, they are upholding Vince’s values while introducing a renewed focus on provenance, seasonality, and ethical sourcing.

Our meats are grown and finished with care on regenerative farms throughout the Northern Rivers.

We specialise in heritage-breed pork, Irish Dexter beef, and free-range poultry – always hormone-free, local, and prepared fresh in-house.

Devine Quality Meats is more than a place to buy meat – it’s a gathering point, a place to swap stories, recipes, and local news.
